    new neck for Strat

Getting ready to order a new neck for a Strat. Not sure if I want to go with a graphite nut or a LSR roller. Your thoughts? The strat has a vintage 6 hole trem and the new neck will have staggered Schallers.

A little more tuning stability would be good. Any gain with the LSR? Any tonal downsides with it?

    Thanks

get a graphite, the lsr is bulky, cumbersome and a real pain to deal with. a properly cut and maintained nut will hold tune just fine. i have an lsr on a strat and don't really care for it.

I'm wif Chuck on this. The LSR is generally a PITFA an' should only be considered if'n you seriously yank an' wank with the trem (ie: "dive-bombing"). Likewise I ain' a big fan of graphite -- nuts OR saddles. They're felonious tone-robbers IMO. A properly-cut-and-fitted bone or tusq nut is more than adequate for the job at hand.

    Jus' mah 'pinion, y'unnerstan'......

    Best of luck.

I'd avoid the LSR. It's usually better to simplify a design rather than complicate it.

I'm a proponent of simpler is always better.

fewer moving parts and better "coupling" of string to instrument.

Many thanks. Not much love for the LSR. So between graphite and corian?(Having warmoth install the nut for me). No dive bombs for this, but a lot of usage possibly.

Graphite for heavy trem work. I'll be real interested to hear how well the pre-cut nut works for you. Most folks recommend having the nut cut after the neck is attached to the body.

    No dive bombs?

Bone or Corian is fine. I wouldn't sweat the decision.
