Get an MIM Standard body for that, they come routed for 'buckers in the neck.

Speaking of toys, I hope you don't treat this like one...that's some serious Tele!

Thanks for the heads up on the MIM NT, I've got to look into that, I've always wanted to "Build my own" but always flake out, and after these price increases... I can prolly Build something and include a period correct G&G case for half of what these new prices are. Anyways, this thing is a Tone Beast, Exactly what I was expecting and exactly what I wanted! I am a pig in S**t right now haha.

    Awesome looks.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is the difference between this and the American Vintage 52 thin skin? What makes this a FSR?

Indeed you can. I recently did just that...

As far as the parts/build thing goes, it can be done on the cheap.

Between my '56 Tokai, JV Strat and EJ Strat I have around $333 tied up in my #1 Strat w/G&G case courtesy of the EJ.

Parting out the EJ and JV were really cost effective. The sale of the EJ neck, body, PG and trem arm almost covered the total cost of the EJ. I've got about $120 dollars in the case, pups, staggered tuners, steel string block bridge and vintage bridge.

The body, pups, bridge, tuners, trem arm and PG sales put me in a JV neck for a measley $13.

The sale of the Tokai neck w/tuners, VI pups w/harness, Tokai stamped bridge and saddles and steel trem block put me in a lightweight, nicely checking, vintage two piece Alder CAR body for $200.

Granted, I had some money tied up along the way, but the end result is everything I want or need in a Strat for less than $350.

Not the best pic, but it the best I have right now!

Congrats on the new Tele! I have a 52 Thin Skin and it gets more play than any of my other guitars. It's my ony Tele. I don't see getting another one, because I can't see liking another one as much.

Stupid question: What does FSR stand for?

Fender Special Run. They're usually one-offs ordered by (and only available to) certain stores.

There was a FSR Mexican Telecaster with a natural finish ash body a while back.

    Very nice Tele SFF

Re: Pic's of my new toy!

I paid the same for mine. Cheers! We got some killer lookin' guit's! One of my buddies came over today to work on a few songs and was stunned by the guitar, he doesn't like his 52 so much because of the orangy look his has, either way I think they are both kewl.

did you keep the original wiring or did you change it to modern style?. I left mine original for now. you can find it between switches.. I agree I like this color better then the standard 52 reissues..

Mine came stock with modern wiring, which was cool because It saved me the trouble of switching it over, these pickups scream when they need to and sparkle when they have to. I am one happy camper!
