Fender CS '69 Pickups w/ loos winding?

I picked up a used set of '69 Customs on eBay and one of them has a stray coil near the top. It doesnt' appear to broken, just sticking out. Is this a problem?

Also, one of the coils has a kind of indentation in the middle of it. Is this a product of hand winding? I certainly didn't expect these weird little details out of a custom shop pickup.

i think you should be fine, have you tried them out yet? i've had pups with a stray loose wire, sometimes that happens with hand winding. i also have pups with indentations in the flat work, that sometimes happens too. pictures would help in seeing if there are any major problems though.

Thanks for the replay. I measured the resistance and they were all 5.64k on the dot. I finally wired them up yesterday. Wow.

glad it worked out, with hand wound, you've gotta remember that they're "hand made" by a human. we make mistakes, and it's never perfect. hope you dig em. best of luck!
