Fender Concert Amp with non-covered cabinet

My friend owns this Fender Concert amp.

We haven't been able to find out much about its origins, and we've never seen another with the cabinet not covered.

Does anyone know anything about the history of this kind of Concert or have any comments about it?

Fender made two wood cabinet limited editions about the same time, in the Rivera era. This, and the Super Champ. I believe they made 100 of each.
    Several guitars in different colors
    Things to make them fuzzy
    Things to make them louder
    orange picks

That would be around the mid '80's then, eh, Kap'n?

    Early 80's, I think.

Interesting amp! I thought it was a Brown era amp at first glance.

I built an oak cabinet once! Ask Elicross...he has it now.

Then it looks like around 1982+ Rivera era Concert.

Thanks for the history link, Kap'n.

That's right! It's even got a hidden bit of graffiti that magically allows me to sweep-pick! It's the baddest Champ cab ever.
