All the tubes are the original Sylvania-branded types marked with "Ampeg" on the exterior of the bottles, Kap'n. Looks like they've been in the amp since '66.

I'm bettin' these thangs were real popular with jazz guys.
My Magnatone 260 w/ the Bax tone stack is the same way. Even tho it is cathode biased it is clean right to the top when it only begins to break up. The cleans are excellent because the Bax doesnt cut mids. Loves dist pedals for the same reason... ;-)

Call me confused...which is typical...but, ...since we have all been waiting to find out what speaker type is in this darn thing...why, still, do we not know?

    What am I missing?

What thrill of suspense has been administered?

What the hell is go'in on here!

You can also jump the channels if you want more grind...use the accordion input.

gris is right on, the bax stack is an awesome tone stack. my buddy gary who builds amps makes a flip top copy with guitar and bass inputs. it is simply the greatest sounding clean amp i've ever played, hands down, there is no comparison. sure it is really clean, but it has a lot of body and soul to it.
