A shout out to all who helped. New gear purchase!

    Hey all,

I just wanted to let you'll know I ordered the rest of my gear today.

I think I'll have a pretty good system to start out with, though I may add a sub down the road.

    Here's what I ordered.

    • A nice 12 top/8 space mixer rack/case by Grundorf
    • Peavey 16FX mixer - it has 14 XLR's, feedback ferret, and lots of other digital stuff
    • a Crown 602 for the mains (PR15's)
    • and a Crown 202 for the monitors (Thanks Mikey & Jangle)

I'm going to work with this for a while, but plan on adding a Monster or Furman power strip & an EQ soon.

I was also able to support my local shop, Jim Laabs music. On a larger purchase like this they were able to beat MF by $220 and gave me the case just dollars over cost.

    Again thanks for everyone's suggestions.

cool beans bro! good luck with dialing your system in and having a blast.

on a side note, i'd go with the furman. monster equipment has done nothing but break down on me. good thing their cables come with a lifetime warranty...

"Lifetime warranty" doesn't mean anything if it craps out on a gig. I agree completely.

Sounds like you've got the makings of a good setup, CS. Good call on the Crowns. You won't regret it.

Yeah I bought into the Monster Cable hype - ONCE. Hated it!
