Just saw a photo of a gold Strat--beautiful. Then again, I can't think of many Strat colors I don't like, unless there's a neon yellow.
What are your least favorite Strat colors?

Hmm... thats a tough one. Can't think of any that I've seen. But I'm sure there are some Hideous colors out there somewhere.

Any neons. Those splatter-casters suck, too.

Maria was 16 when I gave her this Graffiti Yellow Deluxe Powerhouse Strat For Christmas. I clipped the capacitor on the 12 db boost, turning it into 25 db boost Eric Clapton Strat for about 1/3 the cost. Maria was sure punked out that year.
Well, maybe not my fave color, but I don't think it's the ugliest either.
Yes the purples are ugly. I don't care much for silver ones either.
I'm still a sucker for a good sunburst, though.

Then Play On
I googled Neon strats...wow they get my vote. Reminds me of some of my buddies guitars, he has 3 different Neon Ibanez Guitars and they are pretty Harsh on the eyes...

I had a grafitti yellow years ago. Traded it in and saw it a couple months later being played by a one legged guy on tv.
For ugly strats do you need to say anthing more than antigua burst??
+1.. Some of the 70’s Cherry Sunbursts look a bit naff as well. Not to keen on the the gold and silver ones. For ugly Strats do you need to say anthing more than antigua burst??
Not wishing to stir controversy or be accused of being a Troll – but I’m not that keen on sunbursts. Just my opinion which is worth nowt around here anyhow. I prefer solid colours or naturals on strats,
I like the Graffiti yellow one ! Never seen one before
My daughter has a stark pink strat-clone which I also like a lot, perhaps I should leave the closet
CAR.
I saw a pink neon once. I couldn't believe it was a strat. Had a strange headstock. It definitely needed a sack over it.
I'm torn by my own strat. Sometimes I like it a lot, other times... not so much.
I agree about most of the colors mentioned already (neon, splatter, etc.)
I'm no fan of CAR either.
'79-'80 Antigua, had one and it was the worst sounding guitar ever. Now everytime I see one, my ears hurt.

another vote for sunburst. i know, they are classic... i've just never really liked them. and the same goes for pauls too, i'd rather have a gold top, white, or black one. that silver color on the clapton strats, horrid. gold strat? a little metalflake in the gold? oh hell yeah, i love it!
just me, YYMV.
"don't worry, i'm a professional!"
I'm not a big fan of burgundy mist metallic. Out of all the classic colours it is the one that just doesn't float my boat. Yellow is a close second for worst.
Funnily enough I would love a shell pink strat - I'm either confident in my manhood or I'm in touch with my femenine side.

Pink is all right. But neon pink...
My sentiments exactly ch willie, pink is cool but neon just isn't my bag.

Well, I don't like gold... or yellow, either. I loathe pastels; Daphne Blue, Shell Pink, Sonic Blue, and Surf Green all look hideous to me. Fiesta Red isn't quite as bad but still looks pretty hokey. I don't care for any of the white colors Fender is using now... they all have a tint of yellow in them nowadays, except for the White Blond on the EJ signature, which I do like.
I think my favorite finish from Fender is the "Desert Sunset" blueburst on the Bonnie Raitt signature model, especially with the white pearl pickguard over it. That guitar was gorgeous.
My favorite non-Fender finish is the pearl white finish on my Angelicaster, courtesy of Warmoth.
3-color bursts.
I don't deeply dislike them. I just kind of tire of seeing them. I'm the same way with black guard butterscotch Teles.
Sienna burst is another.
That candy green from the early Clapton Strats.
Any non-earthtone or cool-hued burst I don't much like on any guitar.
The neons and the splatters are just silly.
The 50's style two-tone bursts and many of the early Custom Colors are my favorites.

I'll always prefer natural and translucent finishes that show the wood, but I don't actively dislike any of the traditional solid Fender colors. If I had to pick a least favorite, though, I guess it would be pink. That's the only color I can't see myself ever owning...unless maybe I came across an incredible deal on an incredibly nice Strat that just happened to be pink -- and then I'd want to refinish it.
Sorry, pink Strat guys.
The traditional solid colors I'd be most likely to buy would be the simplest ones: Black, Oly White, Dakota or Fiesta Red. The only pastel I like almost as much as those is Surf Green. But I'd rather have a natural finish or a translucent red or white. Or something metallic like a CAR or LPB. Or, hey, Sherwood Green is nice!
Yeah, I guess I like most of 'em.

I don't care much for the splatter Strats either. But I saw a couple of "spin art" Strats once that I wish I had bought.
Color isn't the most important thing, is it? I am just happy to own 2 Strats.....just LOVE the one you're with!
I love splatter strats mostly.
I just can't stand pink, burgandy mist or antigua sunburst.

Hot pink whoooo that stink. Fender goes big hair 80's.
I do like the pastel colors. I searched a couple years to find a Sea Foam with matching headstock. "Don't touch it, Don't even look at it"Nigel Tufnell.
I always liked the seafoam/surf/shell/coral, etc. colors as they are very "50s", as is the Stratocaster.
I realize this thread is about strats but I have to save that while I LOVE the feature set of the Baja Tele I cannot understand why Fender only offers it in two shades of dog poo, each uglier than the other.
Okay, back to strats - personally I don't like oly white so much. I know Hendrix played one, I know. But they just seem so ho-hum to me.
s'all goof.
I had never seen an Antigua Sunburst Strat until I looked it up after seeing it mentioned here. Gee thanks guys. Now I know what my nightmares will look like when I eat too much chili before bed. That is FUGLY.
Funny thing, the one I found was listed as a rare collectible. You know, sometimes the reason that a guitar is rare is not because it was awesome, but because it was laughably ugly and no one wanted it.
"The beauty and profundity of God is more real than any mere calculation."
Just looked up the Antigua Sunburst. No offense to any AS owners, but my god is that one ugly guitar. Who designed it? Stevie Wonder?
Antigua even make Paisley Strats look good
Chartreuse not my favorite,
ok for a dragster maybe though
Fender makes (or has made) several dozen "artist signature models" over the years but it's really amazing how few of them I've actually spotted on a stage, in the hands of a working guitarist. I've seen a few Claptons, one or two Crays, a handful of Eric Johnsons, an' mebbe one Jimmy Vaughn but tha's about it. For all the resourses expended on design, engineering, an' marketing, I'd be surprised if'n FMIC showed any profit for these over-hyped (an' generally over-priced) instruments. I know the collectors scarf these thangs up in hopes that they'll appreciate in value but I'm talkin' about the fellows beltin' out some 12-bar in a club or a local saloon. The only signature models that are even close to bein' suitable for my needs are the Cray, the Mayer, an' mebbe the Knopfler (if I could git it in some color other than Fiesta Red). The Muddy Waters Tele also looks like somethin' I could use. Most of the SRVs an' Jeff Becks I've seen are bein' parted out on Ebay.
Jus' mah 'pinion, y'unnerstan'......

Townshend plays (or did) several Clapton signature models, and Mike Rutherford of Genesis plays a sig (I forget which one). Othewise, I haven't seen any big names using someone else's sig model.
you either love red guitars or not
Lots of people like Sunburst
I'm with the red camp, in most varieties. I have 2 but still have GAS for a CAR with maple neck. My next choice would be a 50's reissue 2 tone Sunburst- but a light or "faded" one - not the black to almost orange that Fender Mexico is making at present.
Least favourite would have to be the Antigua or the Squier OBEY graphics.
When You point your finger 'cause your plan fell through, you've got 3 more fingers pointing back at you.
MPP. Do you still have the yellow start? And, if your thinking of selling it, give me a shout. First dibs. I love yellow.
Schtang: I love the reds and the sunburst. Nice guitars.
Hey Cowboy, I gave the Yellow Strat to Maria for Christmas when she was 16.......She 19 now and still plays lead guitar in her punk band. She still comes by sometimes on a sunday afternoon to jam with me. (wicked step-dad)
