New gear!!!! Bought a Bogner Metropolis today

Have to share it with you, `cause my spose doesn`t understand it:

Today I`ve bought a 30W Bogner Metropolis Tube Reverb and this amp is GREAT!:wav

I gave away my Hughes&Kettner Zentera modeling amp and had made a big financial loss, but I will never regret it because this amp is really amazing. Warm tube sound with great reverb.

As the Zentera had all effects integrated, I had to get some pedals:
My budget was just enough for a Boss TU2 Tuner and the Fulltone Full-Drive 2. I`ve tried many Distortion pedals (Boss Blues Driver, Ibanez TS 10,.....) but with lower volumes the Full-Drive 2 was the best. This effect is very versatile and can do everything from Blues Crunch to Heavy sounds.

Next effect will be a DD3.

Did you ever hear the soundclips of the Bogner website?
It`s true, the amp sounds exactly like this clips!
The price (2500 Euro) is disastrous but I have to say it`s worth every cent.

I put one of these through its paces with a variety of guitars last month at the Washington Music Center in Maryland. It sounded wonderful. Enjoy your new amp!!! :)

Does it have a master volume, or do you have to crank it for gain?

    It has a master volume.

To get the tube breakup is a little problem for me , because I`m a "home player". But this amp also sounds great with Master volume at the lowest lever, gain 1/2. Great crunchy sound.

    This amp reallly rocks

I`m thinking about getting an attenuater, but I`ve heard that the amp would lose dynamics with it and that`s why I sold my modeling amp!

OK, you've had seven years to enjoy it. Now what's the story?

    Anybody else have this amp?

Yah. I know what you mean. I once brought back some ancient thread and it turned out some of the responders had, in the interim, died.
    I felt funky about that.

Anyway, I played a Metropolis recently and was blown outta the water.
    Now I'm curious as hell.

    I like a good follow-up review.
In the car mags, it's usually less than a year, maybe 20K miles though.

On the bright side, unlike, HotRods, there doesn't seem to be any, "How do I fix..." threads regarding Bogners.

Don't bother with an attenuator - you'll be disappointed - no matter how one might describe their effect - they just plain don't work...

The one I played in the store had a magnificent tone at just the normal, cautious volume level I'd use in a store.
(I'm damned shy in a store.)
