    Foot switch trouble

I've recently switched from acoustic guitar to an electric, and I'm really enjoying this new world of electric music. i have a Fender Deluxe, and it's great. But whenever i change channels with the foorswitch i got with it, it just gets noisy. Is this normal?
Do people usually invest in another switch, or is this just the way it goes with electric guitars?

What year Deluxe? Is this foot switch only for the tremolo function?

Johnny states it's a channel switcher, making it one of many solid state amps bearing the "Deluxe" name.

It could be anything from a dirty jack to a bad switch to more serious issues. I'd bring it to a qualified tech.
