    Finally got a Bad Bob

I've been really busy and I kind of put myself on a gear diet, but a friend of mine thanked me for a favor by getting me a Bad Bob.

Fezz and others had mentioned it before and it was on my short list.

This thing is so cool. I've used a Keeley Katana for a while but this is a whole 'nother animal. Using a Surh Pro converted to a s/s/s strat style, my 25 watt 5E3 loves it!!! As well as my 18 watt Marshall clone.

It makes the 18 watt very Vox'y but the 5E3 just sounds plain great.

    Good call!

    you people are evil

I just ordered a Bad Bob because of this thread...AnalogMan should pay royalties here.

I'm trying to downsize and go as simple as possible at gigs, So I'm hoping for a 3 pedal line-up of stomp tuner, OCD and Bad Bob booster. Maybe an occasional Phase 90 mixed in there (Waylon's "pretty pedal")

I've been playing the 5E3 by itself and I thought it sounded great.
It's already loud as heck. The BB just does something to the grind, sweetens it, I'm not sure how to explain it yet, too new to tell.

My 18 watt will break up pretty early, the BB sharpens the grind, makes it stand out. I thought it sounded killer before.

Keeps things natural and organic sounding (if thats how you like 'em) no filler added.

It just makes it a bit more focused. More cut.

trying the new Bad Bob out tonight at practice with a DRRI amp and a Fulltone OCD distortion pedal. I'll try it in front and in back of the OCD, any recommendations on that?? I usually found it's better to put the OCD first. I'll give a full report tomorrow.....

Thanks for the recommendation (I hope )

Re: Finally got a Bad Bob

definitely liked the pedal and it sounds good with the OCD in front. still need to play around with the combinations...I thought it added too much bottom end so I might dial out some of the bass on the amp...also I was a bit disappointed that it added crunch at low volumes instead of giving me at least some level of clean before the break up. But that might just be a matter of the combination of single coil and humbucker on the guitar and those kinds of things. Anyway, the tone it gives the DRRI is really nice....definitely adds "focus" and "cut"....i agree with that.

How much more do you have to pay to get a Good Bob?

telecustom, i know what you're saying. i usually only use the bad boost for a solo or lead boost cause it doesn't suck out the low end. which to me is a good thing when you're doing single note lines and whatnot up higher. that's what i like it for.

I leave mine on all the time. Don't even have it on the floor in front of me. It's usually in the back of the amp.
