& the wife is gonna be thrilled!
I HAVE to get these things done & out of the way while the nice weather lasts here in WA State. Here are some ingredients:
An old (maybe 20 yrs now) Warmoth Tele body, originally a rear access route converted (or "hacked up") to a hotdog route. That hole will need to be patched before spraying. This was my Sofacaster, lol
The faux "Shoreline Gold" Strat body that showed up in CJNeel's '65 Strat thread. It looked cool enough, but after I sprayed a coat of clear it started looking pebbley so I'm starting over.
The small mason jar contains what used to be in a rattle can of Duplicolor. I'm going to use a gun this time.
A gallon of cheap nitro clear gloss from Farwest Paints. This stuff is pretty good.
High-dollar reducer. This is what makes the difference. Mix & spray using this & you'll get rid of a lot of problems w/blushing & such. I've found it also keeps the surface smooth & eliminates the need for a lot of sanding between coats & final buffing as well.
A little bit of ambered lacquer to mix w/the clear for the final coats.
An old Allparts Tele neck. I need to finish the refret I started w/6105s.
A solid maple USACG Strat-style neck.
I should be pretty busy!
