57/62 pickup question
Hi everyone,
I have a vintage 57 stratocaster. The clean sound is very nice in all pickups postions and i especially like the neck. However when I add some distortion, the sounds has some very unfriendly hiss. I don't know if the right word is hiss. It rather sounds like buzz from the strongs being much amplified or something like that. I know this is not a guitar aimed at metal and it is not what I'm trying to achieve but sometimes in rock or funk music, you like to have some distortion. Anyone has met this issue? any solution?
Regards

Re: 57/62 pickup question
The pickups are single coil and they are going to have hiss. As you add distortion the hiss is going to increase. Staying away from fluorescent lights and other sources of interference will help. Orientation of the guitar will help, you can also shield your guitar or you could install noiseless pickups.
