Five hole pickguard Question- Latest Tele Club member
I'm building my first Tele, 50's style. In the past I've always built Strats so I'm not familiar with the 50's style 1-ply 5-hole Tele pickguards. I've noticed that most of the 5-hole models don't have the neck pickup adjustment screws that are accessable from the top of the pickguard, I am assuming the neck pup adjustment has to be made with the pickguard removed. After years of being a Strat Man I've finally come around to being a Tele man, also I want to be as accurate as possible in building the '52 model, so I thought I'd ask the Tele experts. Any thoughts or advice or tips are welcome.
Thanks,
BW

Be careful building a Tele! I built a great one five years ago and my poor Strat sits in the corner!

Thanks. I'm being very careful. So far so good, I'm just waiting on the string ferrules. I know what you mean, I got a '72 RI Tele Custom about a month ago and can't put it down, that's what prompted me to build a more traditional style Tele. Been working on it all day, just have to wire it up, put in the jack, wait for the string ferrules, do a set up with 10's and I'm done. I went with an Ash body with a natural finish and black pickguard, it's beautiful, can't wait to play it.
