This really makes buying a Jazzmaster even more tempting. Strongbad how is that Classic Player Jazzmaster?

I'll bet they're great. Hot Jaguar pickups though? No thanks. The original Jaguar pickups were already hotter than the strats and teles of the '60s so God knows how hot they are!

That's a pretty comfy price for a Jazzmaster.

I truly figured I was untouchable.

But this has me feeling slightly GASsy.

Ah, but I'll be dismantling and altering my Tele over the weekend, and I'll bet that sets me pretty straight.

I love it! I had a MIM strat which I sold a while back - the jazzmaster appears to be higher quality - everything feels very solid - it sounds great, but I don't have anything to compare it to. I never played a vintage Jazzmaster- I've just always liked them - especially when Mike Eizenger from Incubus started playing them.

For the money - its a great value!

    KEWL!!!

Looks like they fixed ever'thang that was fundamentally wrong with the guitar to make it a real screamer......I may hafta check one out. I wish the color selection were a bit broader though -- Ocean Turquoise, SF Green, or Oly White would really set that instrument off.

If they made a Jaguar with a 25.5 scale, I'd be all over it.

I'm surprised no one makes a conversion neck to turn a Jag into a 25.5" scale. Might be a cool business venture.

Would a JM neck work? Or is the bridge on a Jag in a different location? I've always wondered what wisdom led St. Leo down that short-scale road......seems an anachronism to me given that at one time the Jag was the pretender to the Fender throne.

It's different and would have the same problems as using a Strat neck.

I believe the reasoning for the shorter scale was to make it easier for Jazz players to do some of the chords and fingerings that span more than 3 frets.

Went in to a local store the other day and there she was !! Black with the tortoise shell guard fell in love before I touched her. When I played her I was sold , now I just have to find a way to 1- find the money and 2 - convince my wife :-) Not necessary in that order.

    Re: New Jaguar

I played a couple of Jags yesterday.
    Damn cool.
I probably would have gotten pretty GASsed up had the wiggle arms been installed.

(Un?)fortunately that Jazzmasters were hanging about 20ft up the wall, and I didn't want to get that involved.

BTW- I asked a guy when the PRRI's might be hitting the store, and he had no idea what I was talking about.

Does the dude not even read Guitar Player? There's a full-page ad for the PRRI in the latest issue.
