    JAZZMASTER PICK-UPS

    Hi,

    I have a 2001 Jazzmaster U.S.A.
Everything is stock except for the bridge, I put on a MUSTANG BRIDGE.

I love this guitar but theres always something to be done...

I heard the are this black pick-ups you can change on the guitar to give it a little more sustain and make it more clearer?

The only thing negative about this guitar that I feel is that with distortion the notes are note that clear and also , the guitar is too bright on the highs.

Can anyone give me some info on this PICKS?

I'd lower the pickups (especially on the treble side) first.
What are you using for distortion?

    Tommy.

Maybe something like this Seymour Duncan Jazzmaster pickup?

Also check out Jason Loller and Lindy Fralin on the net. They also wind similar Jazzmaster replacement pickups.

How about turning down the tone controls and bringing up the volume on the pedals? Does it sound ok clean?

FWIW, no pickup will give you better sustain.

I'd say Lindy Fralin is the best, because you can choose how bright or dark you want 'em to sound, they match it to the wood of the body and they will rewind it as many times as you want, until you get the right sound. I got mine sound better than vintage ones. Good luck!
