Mustang, Musicmaster II serial # help

I have a friend that asked me to sell a couple of guitars for him on eBay, and he says they are both 1966 models. I would like to make sure they really are '66s before I say they are on eBay.

Here are the serial numbers:
Mustang - 127979
Musicmaster II - 158140

I would appreciate any help. The Mustang is in such good condition (legitimate 9.5) that I wanted to be sure 1966 was correct.

Figure early 1966 on it. Serial #'s were always goofy back then...alwyas outta whack. When the new plates come from the stamping machine, they just put them on top of the pile they were using.

Mid 1966 sounds likely.

When in doubt, pop the neck (if you KNOW what you are doing).
