    Hardtail Strat Project

Just finished a hardtail strat project that turned out pretty cool...body is a Warmoth hardtail strat made from Paduak. Neck is Fender Maple 60th Anniversary American Deluxe with a 'Soft Vee" Profile. Pickups are Harmonic designs (Vintage Plus in the neck and Middle and P90 in the bridge), bridge is a Callaham Vintage Narrow Hardtail. I finished it with about 20 coats of tung oil...really pretty. It sounds fantastic...great sustain and a darker tone than my Ash strats (which was what I was shootin' for). Anyway, it's a little untraditional, but it fits me playin' very well, and was a blast to build! If someone could tell me how to post pics on this site, I'll post some. Cheers!

OK, Let's see if this works...sorry for the lack of computer skills. If this doesn't work, I'll get my 3 year old to help me post the pics!

when you upload your pics, go to your album when you are done. You'll have 4 choices near the bottom of the page. To post an IMG on a board like this one, just click the framed URL (in my browser, Safari, the last choice in the list, don't know about others).

Nice guitar. I scored a hardtail a few months ago, really like it. Had another strat blow my skirt up with AY hand wound pups, and I've sort of been on a quest since then.

NICE!!! I like the hardtails too. My avatar is the Warmoth/Fender hardtail I ordered and put together.

The body on yours looks super-nice.

That's real purty. I really like the look of an oiled wood guitar.

Thanks to DanTheBluesMan for the help with the photos! Gravity Jim, love the look of your guitar as well-real sweet. It's funny how an idea gets stuck in your head for a guitar and you can't function normally until you git 'er done! A lot of those ideas get into my head browsing around this site...hmmm....

That's beautiful! But after 20 coats of tung oil, wasn't your mouth pretty dry?
