As far as I know, no one makes a push/pull pot with a solid shaft. You'll have to use a split shaft. There is a little, brass collar you can get (Allparts has them), that fits over the split shaft, and accommodates a Tele-style, set-screw knob. I've used this, and it works fine.

What are you intending to do with the push-pull pot?

I was about to use one for a series/parallel switch when I discovered that there is a replacement 4-way selector switch available that gives you all the possible pickup combinations in one place. Much more practical and readily accessible.

I have a 5-way super switch on 2 tele's right now...:whip...I was going to put the PUSH PUSH ....:rr.....(NOT PUSH PULL) ....:rr....switch on my tone control......the idea was that when the 3-way was in the bridge pickup position..;)...if you hit the push switch both pickups would be in SERIES....

I had a Mini 59 Humbucker on bridge with a Push Pull for coil spilt Installed on my 2002 Corna American. Works great and is the same height when in the down position.

5 way? Could you please go into a little more depth on what you're setting up here, JJ? I'm always intrigued by crazy wiring setups.

    Gotcha.

So you've got (in no particular order):

    1 bridge alone
    2 bridge & neck parallel
    3 bridge & neck series
4 bridge & neck series, out of phase
    5 neck alone

Very interesting. I've got those minus the out of phase one. I'm kind of curious what that would sound like. Wouldn't it be kind of weak and thin? Or is it more like the hollow, quacky strat sound?

    Thanks

Are you telling me I have to rewire my Tele again?!?!

Seriously, thanks for the information. I will give this a try! I love getting new sounds out of a guitar. Especially a fairly low cost mod like this.
