The Strat is more versatile to me than the Tele. More tones avail. But saying that, I play my Tele much more than the Strat.

I just like my Tele better than my Strat.

    Strokers right, you need both.

Leo just kicked ass when designing both.............but if I could only have 1 it would be the strat. With the right neck I could play it forever and be at home in almost any style of music.

I agree. I love my Strats and all the versatile strat tones but I always reach for my Tele first also.

I agree, the strat has the versatility and the tone. The tele is still the awesome blues and twangy guit, not to mention its perfect balance and comfortability.

I'm a Tele kinda guy. Strats go out of tune too easily when used as weapons. ;)

For me it is the Strat! Here are 3 reasons why:

    Hendrix
    Clapton
    Gilmour

When I was a kid I had to have what those guys were playing. Oddly enough though, I've been shopping around for a Tele!

Maybe because of: Keith Richards, Albert Collins, Roy Buchanon, Tom Petty, ....... and so on ...

I think a strat's a little more forgiving than a tele. When I strap on the tele I know that I've got to be a little sharper.
    You can never have too
    much music in your life.

Depends on the player - was a Tele or a Strat the better choice for Hendrix? Or how about Buchanan? Whichever one voices your style best is the better of the two...

I would have to say Strats rule!!! Teles are cool guitars, and I have heard some awesome stuff coming from them, but like the old Gretschs and Rics, I never had a personal interest.

Hendrix preferred Teles. While people thought he was picking the strings with his teeth, he was actually trying to gnaw the middle pickup off his Strat to make it sound more like a Tele

    ;)
i bet this really annoy's you if your a grammar freak.

I think the double cutaway on the Strat had something to do with why Hendrix used them so often- they were flippable. ;)

You guys are bugging me out. Hendrix and a tele? Man the whole universe would have came to a screeching halt if Hendrix wasn't handed a strat...................and your missing the most obvious answer why he preferred one over the other............the Trem................plus teles don't burn as well...............

I love the contours on the Strat too much to really dig the Tele. The two Teles that I did own had a really snappy top end though. There really is no other guitar that has that snap. Just not my sound...
