    Funky old pedal score

I stopped in the local GC this afternoon, and found one of these:

Mine wasn't that much. Would you believe $25, and in much better shape? Just missing the rubber feet and screws.

It's a pretty cool phaser, supposedly related to the small stone. There's an extremely wide range of sweep speeds, and the recycle knob adds swoosh. Dime 'em both and you get atonal ray-gun sounds.

I had an extra stomp switch lying around, so I modded it for true bypass. Something cool to have lying around the house, even if I don't use it that much.

    Very cool. I dig it.

To this day, Donald Fagen still has the MXR version sitting on top of his Fender Rhodes for that swirling EP sound when needed.

It does do a nice "Josie" intro.

Not sure I'll get a lot of use out of it, but it's fun to play around with.

Definitely. The MXR or that Ross are on my short list of things to snap up if I find one in my weekly trek through Music-Go-Round.

I've had the black version of that and it was up for trade in the trade thread in the effects section of this board. I have a purple Ross Phase R1 there right now that's more subtle than that one is.

here's one that ends in 3 hours on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=017

I can only imagine that it's going to go up from here.

Kap'n, very cool score. I had one many moons ago. Seriously cool pedal. Some ass clown swiped it at a club we were playing at in Philly.

    Great find!
I used to have one of those----now I have the same era Ross distortion (black).
