Had it, liked it for what it was, but ultimately I thought it was just an extraneous member of my pedal family, kinda like Cousin Itt. So, I ebay'ed it away.

It did sound cool plugged right into the PA, and could be a good backup for a real amp if you have a decent monitoring system.

For what it does, it's a little bit spendy.

I've been playing around with it and it does nail a stevie Ray
on my half stack,it seems to have a blooming sound when kicked
in,but your rite just another pedal and my Jekyll&hyde seem's to be just as good.
But I really havnt spent enough time with it to make a permanent
    decision yet.
What about the SWELL pedals have you tried them?
Very pricey..I think something like that is made for a SS amp,
why would you need it if you have a tube amp? Other than it's recording capability's.. But you can DI it into your PC thats a plus.

I chose the FDR-1 myself. I liked that it also had tremolo & Reverb. I actually use mine for my clean sound. When I'm using my "light" setup, I use a Laney LC15 (110 tube combo) and set it into overdrive, then I turn the pedal on and back the output down till the amp cleans up. Then, I use the amp for clean fenderish sound, and turn the pedal off for a slight boost in volume and an overdriven tube amp.

When I use my Kustom Coupe, I don't use any pedals.
