Tex Mex .... US vs MIM

I have an 06 MIM "Special Edition" Tele. Fender says it has Tex Mex pickups. My guitar guy opened up the control cavity and declared the electronics to be American due to serial numbers found on the pots.

The guitar is unusual because it has the standard 2 pickup Tele configuration. All the Tex Mex PU supplied models I have seen include a middle Strat Tex Mex PU and a 5 way switch.

Do they make MIM Tex Mex PU's?
Would they use US pots but MIM PU's?

Whatever they are, they are hot.

    Any thoughts?

Yes, I think they make more than the 3 pickup "Nashville" Teles (the one with a 5-way selector switch and middle Strat pickup) that have Tex Mex pups... I'd check the product line on Fender's website for details.

CTS pots are made in mexico, how could they be "american" electronics. One of few things I didn't have to change in my strat, (and a pleasant suprise).

Most mid line mexican guitars come with CTS pots, probably cheaper to just use them then ship in cheaper stuff from Asia that wouldn't be as good anyway...

    Just my $.02

My guitar guy showed me MIM pots and US pots he had on his workbenceh. He had me look at the ones in the guitar. They were the same as the American ones.

This guitar is designated as "Special Edition" ....maybe that included American electronics.
