Seeking Comments/Summary Review: Classic Tele Thinlines

Never owned one of these. But the Ash Mexican model looks presentable. Three piece bodies I think.

I always thought the bodies were a little chezzy looking due to the very small hollow section.

How do these generally compare with the original 60-70's USA models???

Good for the money compared to the Mexican 60's model?

I used to own a 72 thinline RI with the wide rage humbuckers, and I have played the '69 RI many times before. I loved the necks on both. They appear to have the same shape as the classic 50's (a nice U shape). The 72 had an awesome tone, very versatile with the humbuckers and the f-hole, somehow it still retained somewhat of a tele tone.

The 69 was total tele but with a unique open airy quality. The bridge pup was a little lacking IMHO but thats just me.

As for the build quality...they are great, probably alot better than what was coming from fender during the 70's.

I hope this helps a little.
