    GFS 70's grey bottoms anyone?

just wondering with all the GFS sets that have been purchased from the locals here if anyone has tried these. the best strat i had had 70's pups in it, which gets me to wondering. the only hang up i have is that i can't buy em single, cause i'd rather not have a RWRP middle, i'd love them all the same direction. i might just go out on a limb and try a set. i've been thinking of a strat lately...

    I wonder, too.
I do have the '64 staggers which, aside from having staggered poles, I think are wound pretty close...I love 'em

i guess i need to buy a set. i love flatpoles, and the pups aren't too overwound. so it seems like they might be a good pup.

They are in my MIM Strat right now. Here is my review from 5/07:

"The GFS pickups are in.......I like the sound! They are "glassier" and more "sparkly" than the MIM Strat pickups that they replaced. The original pickups were kinda "muddy" IMO. All in all, I am very pleased with these pickups, especially for the money. Thanks for the advice Fezz! LB."

    the next day:

"I just cranked up my tube amp and REALLY gave 'em a test drive today. WOW. I LOVE them now. I see what GFS means when they say they "really drive an amp". They sustain like a frickin' humbucker but the tone is still bell-like. I felt like Dick Dale almost......couldn't play like him but I DID feel like him. Man, what a good deal. LB."
