    Rain Day Surprise

I have the day off work because it's raining. So I thought what the hell I'll go play around at the music store.(Elderly instruments) I stroll in the the amp room and see this older dude playing some kick ass blues and singing like a bird so I grab a Tele plug in and start playing along just rolling from tune too tune. He look's at me a say's what's your name son I tell him mine he say's I'm EJ Phillips nice to meet you. Then he tells me I play some pretty mean blues being the I am I had no idea who he is I'm thinking ya what ever. He go's on to tell me he's looking for a second guitarist to back him up for an up coming CD release Thursday night would I be interested..Well to say the least I was blown away! I'm on cloud nine!! The wife dose not have to work so I'm free to go and do this gig...Whoop Whoop!!

He's from New Orleans the man was displaced by Katrina and lived in Lansing for a few years and now is back to do some show's to support his new CD. I gave him my digits he's coming over tonight so we can rehearse.. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!

"Live at Club Soda?" An album recorded live in the worst sounding room in Fort Wayne, Indiana?

    Don't be intimated.

That's amazing... I've never hear of EJ, but I know all three guys backing him on "Live At Club Soda!"

    Congrats!

Try not to hog too much of the spotlight at the CD release party.

Gig report, We had a blast EJ is one hellva guitar player and a very nice guy he's the closest to Hendrix I've ever jammed with the guy just knows what Jimi was doing.. I kid you not if you get a chance to see him do it.. I musta been doing something right I got asked to do the show again to night.

I'm still on a high I have't had in a long time.. I'm exhausted and running at 90 at the same time.. aparently I have a cool vibe abought my playing I will be doing a lot of playing with EJ when ever he's in town. The show tonight is at The Cadillac Club 1115 S. Washington AV Lansing Mi show start's at 9 come on down if you get a chance...

One of the major drawbacks of being a gigging musician is you hardly ever get to see your friends play.

Nope, just the lingering effects of two back-to-back colds.

    I've been ill since September.

Man, this codeine knocks you for a loop. No buzz or anything, but I had a bowl of soup, and could barely keep my eyes open for an hour.

I'm still coughing a bit, but certainly less.
