    interesting vocals problem. advice?

my bass player was recently involved in a serious motorcycle wreck. amongst other injuries, one of his vocal cords was paralyzed. he was never a really strong singer to begin with, but now we need to start thinking about how to get him back up to speed with a seriously weakened voice. any suggestions? i'm thinking maybe condenser mic, perhaps with a compressor/limiter, maybe a noise gate or eq to help w/ feedback? our board is capable of supporting most or all of these ideas, just not sure which to pursue. also any suggestions as to vocal technique/exercises would be welcome.

With a situation like that, I wouldn't start with gear choices, I'd start with physical therapy. Talk to an ENT doc.
