    HW1 Finish/Guitar Stand

Anyone have any pics of their HW1's and how the finish has held up? I've already rubbed it shiny where my arm lies. I am not too worried since I treat it well, just curious how they look later on.

Also, I've heard that rubber guitar stands are not good for the nitro finish. The little book that came with it says to keep it away from synthetic or surgical rubber tubing. Anyone have a suggestion for a stand that won't hurt the finish? Maybe I should just cover the rubber with some cloth or something similar?

I haven't had any problems with nitro on either the "Ultimate" guitar stands, or the Warwick "Rock Stands."

    These things:

Are supposed to be the worst offenders for nitro, and unstable pieces of shit, to boot.

    Things to make them fuzzy
    Things to make them louder
    orange picks

A rubber stand damaged the acrylic lacquer finish on my '05 Hwy1!

When I first bought the guitar, the finish was so soft that cloth put over the stand left impresions and fibres in the finish.

It's fine on a synthetic rubber stand.

I get rid of the rubber on all guitar stands and replace with PVC tubing. It's chemically neutral and lasts forever. Looks better than the orange dry rotted crap they come with.

I ordered one of these, nothing fancy but made by Fender and nitro friendly.

It might claim to be nitro friendly, but they're shoddily constructed.

I prefer these. Usually about $25, and they'll last forever.

They have them with little arms that stick out, but they get in the way of the cord on Teles and Les Pauls.
