Re: Whats on your pedal board?

on all the Boss pedals and the Keeley Comp. I just removed the bottom screws and added some flatstock and put the screw back in . and yes ..on the 808 and the Budda wah , its an L bracket through the side to ( of course ) a hollow area in the pedal . I cant stand when pedals slide, shift ,or the velcro lets go ....

Re: Whats on your pedal board?

I'm going to do something similar with my wah, but will not be drilling into it. what I'm going to do is, to get 4 angle brackets, and mount them on the pedalboard in such a way that the horizontal part is under and just next to the rubber feet. I'll mount them fairly snug, and then cover the top portion of the brackets with black electrical tape. then, I'll poke holes in the tape where the holes in the brackets are, and then will take something like black shoelaces and tie my wah pedal down. I think that will work. I like your pedalboard, Vesperboy, but I can't imagine myself drilling into the pedal - I always like to keep my stuff ready for resale, 'cause I'm always trying new things...

    Mine is currently...

Dunlop Crybaby -> Double Muff -> Small Clone
    -> Small Stone -> Dr Q -> The Wiggler -> English Muff'n

and a DMM in the amp FX loop.

Re the mounting the Wah, I removed the rubber feet and counter sank some holes in the pedal board and then used velcro to hold it down. Works fine

Oh I surely could have just put flatstock into the 4 holes that the rubber feet went into Just like I did with the other pedals .( its about 29 cents at Home Depot ) I just make a 1" inch piece with 2 holes in it and put 1 screw in the pedal and the other in the board. .. I just have had the wah for a while...won't be parting with it , and had a few angle brackets that I used...Same thing with the ts-808.

Fairly sparse but just what I need to do what I want.

In order from left to right

    1. AD9 - Great, I love analogue delay
    2. Bad Monkey - Great sounding for the price, thinking about replacing it with a blues pro
    3. Crunchbox- This thing IS the bees knees of Marshall in a box
    4. Modded Crybaby
    5. TU2 tuner - Powers the rest of my pedals
    6. 1-SPOT - Cheep and works great. No added noise with the newer ones. Powers the TU2

Re: Whats on your pedal board?

I'm kind of an effects junky. I've never really put them in a board... I haven't started gigging yet though...

    Pedals I have:

    BOSS BF-2 Flanger
    BOSS DS-1 Distortion
    BOSS OC-2 Octave
    BOSS GE-7 Graphic Equalizer
    DOD FX69 Grunge
    Electro Harmonix Q-Tron
    Electro Harmonix Big Muff PI
    Electro Harmonix Small Stone
    Electro Harmonix Small Clone
    Electro Harmonix Clone Theory
    Ibanez CS-5 Super Chorus

    Pedals I plan on getting:

    Analog Man Peppermint Fuzz
    Electro Harmonix Memory Man
    Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer
    MXR Dya-Comp
    Voodoo Micro-Vibe

I'm a big EH whore...what can I say. They make such amazing, full sounding effects. If I had the money I'd buy their whole line of pedals.

I'm considering getting into building effects, but I have no technical expertise. I'm a fast learner though, and will be doing what I can to learn; that way instead of spending money on pedals, I can spend it all on guitars.

    Cybaby 535Q wah
    Digitech Whammy
    Ibanez chorus soundtank
    Deluxe Memory Man

I have an MXR phaser but I switched it out of the chain for the chorus. It doesn't have a power adapter and the dead 9 volts kept killing the tone.

Re: Whats on your pedal board?

my effects have changed a little:

Boss BD-2 Modded to Keeley specs
    Boss TU-2
    Danelectro Dan-Echo
    Danelectro Tuna Melt Tremolo
    Ross Phase R1
    Ross Phaser
Electro Harmonix Nano Small Stone Phaser
    DOD FX40 EQ
    Korg AX3G
And, if I stretch, Line 6 FBV Shortboard (since it can turn modulation, delay and reverb off and on, along with a volume/wah pedal)

You can view them at http://www.coldthewinter.com/newfamily.jpg

Though, I think I'm going to move some pedals so that I can buy a holy stain pedal if I like the way it sounds.

Re: Whats on your pedal board?

As a another option for attaching pedals other than velcro... I drilled holes (tastefully) in the bottom of my pedalboard and used BLACK cable ties to tie the pedals to the board. I cut off the used ends of the ties and all is neat and tidy and I spent less that $2. at Walmart for the ties.

Re: Whats on your pedal board?

Here's the setup I use when playing at church. I'm usually playing either a Les Paul or CS-356
into this board and then into my Peavey ValveKing 112, which is mic'd with a SM57 and run into
    the FOH/monitors.

FYI - I'm still working on my "studio" pedalboard, which is bigger and has all of the above plus
a few more things on true-bypass switchers, etc. It gives me a wide range of sounds with
different overdrives, multiple delays, etc. I'll post that pic in a future update.

Re: Whats on your pedal board?

Mike, your boards are always evolving !

I think mine is finally finished. I need to take pics of it, but it goes like this:

    Guitar --. Crybaby --> TS9RI --> SD1 --> LPB-1 nano --> Small Stone Nano --> Boss Tuner --> Boss GigaDelay --> Amp

All fit on a Gator pedalboard. I bought the smaller one, and the real estate is very tight but with the addition of the Nano pedals I could place everything where I wanted it and actually added another pedal (the Stone) and ditched the chorus. The LPB-1 was originally intended for use with my strats, to bring them up to the level of my Les Paul clone, but the darned thing sounds so nice that I use it for solo boosts and to goose the clean sound to just the point of breakup.

Re: Whats on your pedal board?

Kap'n, I'm curious - what kind of music does your band play? If you're not playing blues or country or early beat music or rockabilly, how do you cover all the ground you may need to?

I mean, like modulation and delay effects, stuff like that.

I only ask because I went the opposite direction simply because I need to cover so much ground (with the modern Rock worship stuff).

No band right now. If I got one going now, I'd probably add a delay pedal, but that's about it. Modulation doesn't really do much for me. There's tremolo in the Torevibe if I need it.

There's a lot of tweakability in the reverb section too. It can be really subtle, so the spaces between notes isn't so empty. Or, of course, it can be off.

This rig will probably change, as my new amp kit is on the FedEx truck out for delivery. A Super Reverb in a 18W Marshall-style 2x10 cabinet.

My acoustic rig now consists of a micro-POG and JamMan.

Wow, Csapo, you sure made the most out of your space!

My newest small board isn't even a board. I gigged with Crossfyre tonight with my AC15 and a couple of guitars, through a Jackhammer and a Reverend DriveTrain II and didn't feel like I was lacking anything. I think that for Crossfyre it's a case of simpler is better - and when I'm the lead wanker in the church band, I need all the bleeps and blurps that a full-featured pedalboard can offer...different ways for different days, I guess...

Re: Whats on your pedal board?

Well I got this "pedalboard" case about a year ago on ebay for about 120 shipped. Its was kind of a rip-off, cause it turned out to be pretty flimsy, but i put a sheet of plywood in it ( Glued down with liquid nails) and then some grey carpet stuff I bought home depot ( Glued down with Carpet adhesive) that really sticks to the Velcro.
Its very sturdy now, and extremely heavy. Too big to be pracitcal for anything, plus youve got to do a ballerina act to step on some of the switches, but this was my first idea- to have a board where i could get everything at once onit.
As big as it is , Im still going to have to leave off the crybaby wah. Ive left room for my vintage Small Stone, which is getting fixed, and a Chorus on the board.
Ive actually got the bottom to the "pedalboard", and Ive also strengthened that with plywood, but it would need a whole lot of foam to fill the space in between top and botom. This pedalboard is something you would need a dolly to wheel in with all the pedals, & top and bottom plywood section..
Ive got most small things velcro'd down, and am working on affixing the larger pedals with either platic zip ties, or maybe bike chain links.
    My plan is to get a smaller board for the pedals that see the most action and have two boards;

Re: Whats on your pedal board?

Latest version. Gives me all tones from clean to light break up to real nasty.

RC stays on all the time.
BD (Keeley) comes and goes but it gives a nice smooth solo tone.
Lovepedal Eternity and Crunchbox have pretty much ended my search for OD/Distortion - both outstanding pedals but with very different characters. Stacked they give a great lead tone with sustain and cut.
CE-5 rarely gets used, but nice to have when you need it.
DD-3 adds extra "reverb" for solos.

Some good ones here too (the TS-9 is Keeley'd), but no cigars...

Re: Whats on your pedal board?

I used to have a whole bunch of stuff and still have 2 old pedal boards still assembled and in working order, but this simplified everything.

My "shortened" version now. No more Marshall so no Marshall switches. Fender only amps so no Tremolo on the board. Got rid of the volume pedal and one Boss Distortion (OS-2, was OK just didn't use it) and added a Boss RC 2 looper which I am actually using live sometimes now and not just for practice.....
