A review and some samples from the Gain Stage Pedal

I saw a link for this pedal and got one. Seems it does the EJ Violin tones as the selling point but, I also used it as a clean boost.

Played it at a gig and was blown away with the tones I got using it as a clean boost.
I've heard the OCD and love the tones. In some ways this pedal reminds me of the OCD with a bit more control.
    Anyway, here is the site.

I do dig me some violin tones....hmmmm.
Tone is in the fingers, eh? Let's hear your Vox, Marshall and Fender fingerings then...

Well, its a pricey pedal. I like the description of a clean-boosty OCD comparison , on the other hand, while i like Angus Young Violin tones, I don't care for the EJ sound. To me it sounds processed and artificial, maybe like a Violin on a synthe.

Didn't know AYoung had violin type tones.

As far as EJ being processed and artificial sounding well...
we all hear things a bit different.

My only other question for you is did you view/listen to the other videos?

Zenland, I liked what I heard on the samples. But I would like to know how the pedal sounds when throwing chords, riffing, etc... There are only "lead samples" in their website. What amplifier are you isng the pedal with?

I watched all the videos and thought the pedal was pretty versatile for lead work, I liked it. It sounded great through both the Deluxe Reverb RI and the Peavey Special 130. Is it guitar volume sensitive? I have an MJM london fuzz that can clean up or get dirty with a slight volume change, is this true bypass and what is it powered by.

agalamba-I'll try to record some riffs and post them. That may take 4 or 5 days to accomplish.
I use it as a clean boost with a bit of grit (most of the time).
The amp I'm useing (lately) is a '71 Princeton Reverb with a Marshall 2X12 cab and my Juke 1210. The GS only goes to the Princeton.

Guitarzan-Yes, true bypass. Battery or regular 9 volt adapter.
Guitar volume sensitive, yes but if it's on 10 I have to drop the volume to about 6. Not really a slight change there I guess.
I really don't use a lot of gain though.

A good friend of mine uses a '' similar '' pedal, It works fine with a single coil guitar, but if you use it in conjuction with a Gibson SG and a Phase 90, the Phase 90 starts sounding like Uber Crap
    Bananas
