Authentic grill cloth for 70s Dual Showman head

I'm trying to locate some replacement grill cloth for my mid 70s Dual Showman head.

I actually bought a couple of types from Ampwares but neither of them were anything like the stuff on my amp. Ampwares gave me my money back though.

Anyway, if anyone knows where I can get some of the proper stuff, I'd be very grateful. I'm in the UK but I don't mind shipping it in. Thanks.

I think Fender sell it in the UK... I've got a catalouge lying about so i'll see if there's a P/N for it.

You'll need to keep an eye out on E-Bay. In addition to looking only for orig Fender Grill cloth watch for old Fender baffles w/grill cloth as well.

No one currently makes an exact replacement for the Fender SF grill cloth that I'm aware of.

Are you trying to match it to a Fender cabinet? You might not get a match and may have to get enough to do both the head and cab.

Thanks for that, I'll check it out. No, I'm not trying to match it to a cab, so as long as it's the right stuff, then the colour/hue is not really that important. But the stuff from Ampwares was bright and garish and the pitch of the pattern was all totally wrong. I'm sure it must be possible to get something that is closer.

I've asked Tubesandmore for a sample, and I'll post back when I get it. Meanwwhile any more input from you guys is much appreciated.

You'd think grill cloth for one of the world's most popular amp series would be readily available. Not least from the manufacturer of the amp! Has anyone had any experience of contacting Fender 'direct' to see if they could help with something like this; they must have some tucked away somewhere....

Thanks to you guys; I'm gonna contact these suppliers and ask for a sample, I'm not gonna get my fingers burnt again. I've a suspicion that most are reselling the same cloth from the same manufacturer; the coloured thread is much too thick and woolly. But let's see those samples. Thanks again.
