    Neck Relief and String Height

I'm not a bass player but noodle around a bit on a HWY 1 I bought last year.

As far as set ups go just how much neck relief do you set yours at and how high do you set your strings?

I have quite a bit of rattle coming through my amp but just how much is acceptable for a bass?

I'm using Rotosound Stainless Solo Bass 55's 45>105.

Thanks in advance for any help.

If I can remember I think mine is .025" plus. If you run them 'flat' they buzz like crazy

    This should get you started:

Re: Neck Relief and String Height

    you are welcome.

I have some other 'recommended' set ups but I think they are real close to the fender spec's

go ahead and experiment, but I would measure and document where you currently are. Always handy to have a reference.
do I look like I know what I'm doing?
