Name one more Iron Butterfly song.

Gtrplyr: Nena doesn't really qualify because she's a german "artist" (really wouldn't call her an artist because her career was all hyped and she still can't hit a right note to save her life LOL!) and she had some more hits here in Germany - her US appearance on the charts was a surprise and more due to a kind of novelty factor, I'd guess.
I don't think "Layla" qualifies because it's album oriented material and the entire album is still a hit record (and an all-time classic).
We'd have to agree on what "one hit wonder" means - to me it's somebody who came out of nowhere, had a hit and disappeared again.
Sorry for the long post - back to the scheduled program:

and Clapton has had more than one hit.

Does the Knack's My Sharona count?

How about Donny Iris' Ah, Leah? (would Love Is Like A Rock count as a "hit?"

How about "The Undisputed Truth" with Smiling Faces back in '71. I just checked this one out on Wikipedia and it turns out that the Temptations recorded that song first but it never was released as a single (even though it had been edited from 12 minutes down to a length apropriate for AM radio). Later on the Undisputed Truth did it and it went to #3. They did actually chart again later on but never into the top 40.

Strangely, after making a hit out of a Temptations song that failed the Undisputed Truth recorded Papa Was a Rolling Stone which didn't make it above #63 but which the Temptations rerecorded and turned into a #1 hit with three grammys. I guess that the Undisputed Truth is stranger than fiction.

How could you all forget "Hey, Hey Baby" by Bruce Chanel or "That Thing You Do"? The ultimate OHW. Heck even "Friday on My Mind" by the EasyBeats.

They had more than just that one hit. I think they did a few covers that turned into minor hits, too.

Crash Test Dummies did a version of "Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead" for the soundtrack of "Dumb and Dumber," of all things, and it kills.

I don't think Ace had another hit besides "How Long" (has this been going on) and "Dead Skunk" (in the middle of the road) by Loudon Wainwright.

Well, he didn't have the "hit" recording, but I'm bet he's a zillionaire for Suicide Is Painless.

That title is "Candles In The Rain," refin (easy to confuse becuause of the massive "Lay down, lay down," chorus). But not a one hitter... did we forget "Brand New Key?"

I'd also add Reelin' in the Years, but the Dan isn't exactly 1 hit wonder material.
The Amboy Dukes hit small first with "Baby, Please Don't Go".

My entry would be Pacific Gas & Electric's "Are You Ready"

Or Chi Coltrane's "Thunder and Lightning"

Yeah, Brand New Key was #1 if I'm not mistaken.
Melanie also had other fine songs: What Have They Done to My Song, Peace Will Come, great cover of Ruby Tuesday.

And, although I think he was bigger in the UK, David Essex's "Rock On" needs to be mentioned. Even his record company didn't think it would fly.

"Rock On" is wicked cool, and begging for a remake.

It reminds me of another tune I'd love to hear redone in a more modern, electronica style, without losing the charm of the original: Tommy James' "Draggin' The Line."
