    That's a cool looking bass!

I just can't work with Ricks though. I had a either 72 or 74 Mapleglo 4001, and I couldn't bond with it. I loved the way it looked, I hated the way it played and the way it sounded. I held on to it for around 6 years and it never really worked for me. But it sure was cool. Every time I see a nice Rick it gets me to thinking- "maybe if I..." and that lasts until I pick up another one and realize that I just don't like them.

Yes, that bass went for a great price.looks legit. too.Heresa a bass I was watching that went at an incredible price for some very lucky buyer.I dont see any indication that the seller is dishonest in his description or dealing either. I mention this because I have an RD ,but its not as nice as this baby.maple neck a mile long.. bright single coils..

one of the first basses i played was a 78 ric, and i've wanted one ever since. i now have my 73 (which is a real sweety). i love it, works for me. i am one of the weirdos that can't get on with a jazz bass.

that's a cool looking rd there jerry.

i have a ri thunderbird sitting at my house right now that i need to do a set up on.

my wishlist: thunderbird, jazz (not personally, but for certain bands i get called to play with), jack cassidy bass, and one of a gretsch bass. i've been on a real semi hollow bass kick lately.

    Re: oh my my!!!!

Damn, I love Ric's. My favorite bass guitar tone albums are The Misfits' "Static Age", Bad Religion's "How Could Hell...", and the Sex Pistols' "Bullocks", all Rickenbackers.

The "Static Age" part might raise an eyebrow, 'cause it almost kind of sounds like he's playing a rubber band, but it gives the album an interesting sound, in a good way.

Maybe I should buy one and start playing bass...

    Heck.
If you want to really sound like you're playing rubber bands...
