If you use your dist pedal to get your disortion and just want to control a boost for lead, put the boost after the pedal, or better yet, in the effects loop.
If you want to boost your signal to hit the front end of your dist pedal harder, put it in front of the dist pedal.
If you want to hit the front end of a tube amp harder to take advantage of the tubes overdriving and compressing the harshness of a distortion pedal, put it after the distortion pedal.
Your answer is C of course.

I've had it both ways, and it really depends on the rig. Some pedals distort in a bad way if you boost in front of them. Boost in front of distortion gives you more flavors of stompbox distortion. Boost after distortion can give you a mix of amp and stompbox dirt.
Right now I've got my boost first. Mainly because the very high impedence input gives my Gretsch more sparkle, especially when the volume is rolled down.
