BA II Bridge - New HWY 1 Basses

I had mentioned this in the Tele section, and it seemed more appropriate to put it here. I had not thought about doing this with a Leo Quann BA II bridge, but they come stock this way on the American HWY 1 basses now.

Nice touch to be able to adjust string spacing. I would prefer to get one already done like this for my next project upgrade......

    Are they pre-notched now?

What's nice about them NOT being notched is you can get the strings to lay exactly where you want them.

    davey -

I believe when you prchase one new, it is un-notched. This is the first I had seen one like this. I like the idea myself.

This goes both ways- you can take a bridge and drop it right onto a bass without having to file the saddles. That's always cool.

However, there are people that are anal about having the strings lay exactly where they want them.

I don't recall my strings setting too far off axis or anything to require the saddles to be specially notched or anything. The existing notches in the saddle in the pic shown would work fine for me. I think it's a good idea as well...

I think if the SX 5 string i had gotten had this option, I would have kept it. The strings were spaced a little close for me. With this option, you have flexibility to adjust to suit your taste/feel and its very low-tech simple.
