Big Muff hums on an adapter!

I got my pedal board set up (again)



The big muff has the battery clip hooked up to the 9volt adapter, and it does nothing but hum. When the pedal is off, there is no noise at all. Anyone have any clues?

Do you have another adapter you can try? Maybe the one you have has poor filtering.

Well, I don't have one at the moment, but I do know that it does not hum with any other pedal but that one...

I have a cheap 9V that will hum with my Chorus pedal and not the others, it's a little underrated for current, so with the chorus drawing more current the PS has noticeable ripple. It could be some ground loop problem too.

I'm probably going to go get a 1 spot, and see if a regulated adapter makes a difference, because I have no idea if the radioshack one is. It's meant for a game system with higher amp draw, so I figured it would be good for powering pedals.

Got the 1 Spot, and the hum is GONE!
