It tickles me that this thread gets reborn every 6 months or so.
"...pray do not imagine that those who make the noise are the only inhabitants of the field;
that, of course, they are many in number; or that, after all, they are other than the little,
shriveled, meagre, hopping, though loud and troublesome, insects of the hour."

You created a phenomenon!

I have an American Deluxe V neck on the way..... :-)

they Build Extrem good Guitars.
My No:2
I´s a 52 US Reissue Tele from 2003. Get it from Gregor Hilden a few Days ago and it is a Dream guitar.

Well, I love this thread. It seems to surface when I have decided another in the flock is number 1. I have now set up Frankie for slide and my CS 1960 "Carson" with the awesome almost NoCaster size neck is now my #1 playing out or at home....
Yep, this is true. This "Cowboy" is indeed the best acoustic sound I have now. The D 45 is nice but it is darker sounding. May change but this is soooooo purdy
"Sorry" - John Belushi as he smashed a guitar in Animal House
My current number 1
2005 60s Classic MIM - Lake Placid Blue
Same #1, different pic:
Here's my number one Strat w/some Fat 50's.
This here's my new No.1... I'm still trying to figure out why it's a humbucker guitar, but has the snap of a Strat...
Quilt maple top, Alder body, and mahogany toneblock... Qtr sawn birds eye maple neck and a nice thick chunky RW board. 10" radius. Strings Thru Body Hardtail.
It's seriously nice. Almost as nice as my 57 Hot Rod... Heheheheh... But it's my go to guitar now because most of the songs I'm playing now needs a hunbucker...

My number 1 is actually number 2. The second prototype Leo made as described by Richard Smith in his book "Fender" and pictured in the same book on pages 127 and 132.
53 Strat
Hate to say it, but my new R8 is my new #1.
I do need to get new pictures of my 57RI. I'll get those tomorrow.
Jeff
53Strat... Dayamn!
Jeff... It's okay that your current #1 isn't a Fender.
This thread just keeps going, and going, and going...

Heres a pic of my #1 Strat(Warmoth ) next to my #1 Gibson;
My #1...
All but the neck & tuners ('07 JV) is an '85 Tokai 2 piece Alder body w/ "VI" pups.
Got it in trade for some gear I was selling and planned on selling her off 'cause the '56 style (fatter than my '05 EJ) neck w/7.25" radius wasn't to my liking. But those pups grew on me and the rest is history...
Which one is #1? Ask me again tomorrow. It changes every couple weeks or so. Love 'em both.

For now, this one.

My three others are here, but my new build IS my number one for sure.
Here's my #1.
Not a great shot but here she be.
We have many storys tell and we have been through alot together over the years.
I have played and owned many Strats from the 60's 70's 80's 90's and whatever this decade is but
none of them sound and feel as good as this piece of crap Strat.
God I love her !
Nice stable there usc96.
Funny, I remember you starting a thread about lusting after a 50's style daphne blue strat w/ maple fretboard a year or so back, that's what gave me the G.A.S. to buy one!
Unfortunately, the guitar was less than inspiring, and rather than spend money on trying to be happier with it, I just sold it and used the money for a "new" amp.
What model is yours?
P.S. Boonedog the wood on your Strat is stunningly beautiful. Nice work.
Good memory. I've been wanting one for some time, but had a heard time finding just the right one.
Here's the description from the seller:
Fresh from the Fender Factory this is a NEW Custom Classic V Neck, Beautiful Birdseye Maple Fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets on a 9.5 radius > 7.25lbs > super resonant > 3 modern classi pickups, including the HOT classic bridge pickup with custom steel inductance plate > modern tremolo with milled parts > this guitar is incredible, absolutely perfect for the stage player > complete wtih Custom Shop hard case, tags, goody bag, strap and cable
This is my #1. Its a 2005 Fender Standard Strat body with a 2007 Fender maple neck (for the MJ frets). The pickups are now GFS Premium Vintage Alnicos and the tuners are Wilkinson Deluxe Vintage. Since these pics I have also shortened the trem arm.
and the SG...............

Here's my number one: 2007 Highway One Texas Tele
That thing looks so good with the black pickguard. Is that the Honey Blonde finish?
"I haven't slept for ten days...because that would be too long." -- Mitch Hedberg
Sure is. I'll try and find a phtot of it with the white guard on.
This is my first 3 saddle-bridge Tele, and in my experience with setting it up, it's a whole hell of a lot easier than a 6 saddle-bridge. One of the guys I looked up to growing up that played in a local band played it the other day and commented on how great I did on the setup. Me ->
Damn... Every time I visit this topic, I've got a serious drooling problem.
TJ, you still use a wound third? You're a crazy man. Small strings for me...
Instead of a picture, how about moving pictures? :)

Self-promotion is a good thing, right?
Ha!
No...I dropped the 12s to 11s sometime ago. You don't remember from when you played it?
That video would be cooler if you didn't have that mint pg on your Strat.
