Re: Your favorite tele amp combo

Lately I've been playing through a DRRI. Love the clean side. Scooped mids...very "fender".

The only problem is when I kick on my TS-9 it doesn't have the same ballsy sounded (it's moded to have more low end). A pedal doesn't sound the same infront of all amps. Dang it!

A couple of Tele critters with Glendale bridges/saddles and Lollar Vintage T pickups straight into a tweed amp -- usually a Vickie Deluxe.

My favorite personal Tele tone to date:
50s Classic Tele with dimed Seymour Duncan Vintage '54 Lead bridge pup straight into V-Series V1512 (dimed master volume, 5 gain) then into Avatar 2x12 open-back with Celestions (V30 and G12H30 combination) outdoors. Fricking awesome roar.

USA Custom Swamp Ash Thinline Tele clone with Bill Lawrence pups through a Mesa Blue Angel or an old Bassman head through a Mesa 4x12 cab is my usual gig.

I've only had my Tele for about a month, but it sounds like heaven through my Demeter, which has a Bassman kinda flavor. It really sings with the SPB in the bridge!

I think I already posedt a pic of my Tweed Deluxe with a Tele in this thread--a while ago. Now the TR is here, and both have their place with the Teles in my life: a year 2000 Nocaster and a new LTD edition Custom Tele.

Got a MIA Tele with a maple neck. After a few pickup changes I've settled with DiMarzio's Tone Zone T bridge and a Virtual Vintage Strat neck pickup. I play it thru my stock DRRI. I also use (sparingly) a digital delay and a compressor. It's a nice, simple setup that I use for clean tones. Being just an at home player it suits me fine.

Re: Your favorite tele amp combo

Well after some of these posts I don't know why I'm even bothering, but I've been playing my new Baja through my Silvertone 1484 Twin Twelve and 4x12 cab (because my Twin's not done yet) with my new country band. I've got the amp dimed and I'm using the volume on my guitar to control the amount of clean. The wide open sound with no effects sounds like one of Townsend's Hi-Watts (think Won't get fooled again)! Just incredible tone. When I use position 2 and roll back the volume, it's got that growly Brad Paisly twang. I'm really diggin' this guitar (and I've always loved the amp!)
...and on the 8th day, God created the Super Reverb and there was ROCK, and it was GOOD!

Re: Your favorite tele amp combo

I just bought it on Saturday but right now, for me, it's the Tele + Marhsall JTM 610 (with a new output transformer after the original failed )

I also played it through my little Vox Valvetronix and it sounded good with the boutique clean and the emulated tweed 4x10. The Vox isn't a bad amp at all...I'm actually quite impressed with the verstatility of it (and the effects aren't bad once you figure out how to use them).
