    Lets talk about Customer Service

This topic comes up once in a while. Usually it is how hmuch something/or someone sucks.......

I submit for you a slightly different story.

You might remember last year, I had to have that Ash SX Jazz style bass...man that was nice, but a littel close in the string spacing for me. I sent it back and traded to the 4 string sunburst - same model. Yeah....that was more like it.....a tweek here, a mod there......yep - she is a Keeper!

I don't know when I don't know how, but tone seemed to get dull. I tried a lot of different strings, setups, etc.....

Last weekend I found that a crack had developed at the back of the headstock. I was devestated! My cheap bass is damaged goods!

Cut to tuesday I send it back to Kurt at Rondo Music after an email or two, include paperwork.........pack it and send it out.....

Cut to today (three days later).....
New Neck arrives! It has a different profile, narrow at the nut like a Jazz, thick and round like a Precision.....the other was nicely V'd (Not to be confused with V.D. for you old timers) and I really liked it for its unique feel. This one feels nice though, and I believe I can get used to it with little effort.

    Kurt.........Rondo........
Anyone who has dealt with him knows.....you need not say any more .

Sorry the neck doesn't feel the same, but that's really beyond Kurt's control.

Sounds like he took good care of ya'. Gotta like that.

    I'll echo that.

Haven't had to return anything, but he's always been blazingly fast in answering questions, shipping purchases, etc..

That's good to hear! On a similar note, though not about basses, when I bought my HRD, I noticed as soon as I got home that some of the screenprinting was worn off on the control panel (just thinkin' about resale value is all). So, I brought it back the next day, and the guy exchanged it no hassle. Then when i brought the 2nd one home, I noticed a tear in the tolex LOL!

I decided to live with it, though, and not only that, 3 mo. later the screenprinting on the new amp's panel was worn off even worse! Ah, well...

I got to play yesterday with some frineds. The intonation on the new neck needed no adjustment, action shouldn't have, but I lowered it a little and will liekly bring it back up.

The neck was as comfy as the best of them, and I definately feel like the recipient of the best customer service that could EVER be given. This neck is absolutely friggin won-er-ful!

I am back in buisness.......while it was waiting repair, I had to play my Fender Jazz Deluxe (Yeah...its nice!) .....and as much as I like it, this has a special place in my heart! Vibe-Wise, they are different animals.....

And yes, I would have told the whole story if it hadn't gone this well too!

But I already knew Kurt was top-shelf!
