    "New" Emi JBL Clone

I guess out for about a month now. Called the "Commonwealth." Comes in 12" & 15" models. Rated at 225 watts, 110 oz. magnet, 4" voice coil aluminium dust cover, etc. Currently only comes in a ceramic version though, I believe. I'm a huge fan of the old JBL alnicos. Anyone tried/have an opinion on these new ceramic clones...? Seems like it would be dreamy for country & jazz players. I would guess very articulate & punchy, yet 3-D.

I'd like to know about those, too. What is the price msrp? I hope that doesn't violate the forum rules to ask?

Yeah, well sort of, but for the ceramic mags. Go here and here.

Posting the msrp doesn't violate any forum rules. If you said, however, "The msrp is $XXX but I got them from Joe bloe at $XXX", that would be against the rules.
BTW the ceramic magnet was on the JBL E series. The D120 is the legendary 12" w/an AlNiCo magnet.

Hokie Smokes those are monster speakers. I dunno if they be any good in a small combo. I tried putting some hefty 12" speakers in a 20 watt 2X12 one time and it did not sound good at all.Not enough power for the speakers to work, they were too stiff being made for the higher power, you got sound and volume alright but it didn't get in the zone.I suppose those are designed for a Twin Reverb or something like that ?
