Bass VI o my

Hey, I was looking at the Fender Bass IV NOS Custom shop thats going on sale soon, and I was wondering, what year is it based off of?

Also, is it worth it? I'm a guitar player, and i just wanted something that was differnt, and I know its not really a "Bass" according to some people, but I think it looks cool.

Any additionl info you have about it would be great.

I don't know if literally mean they "look" cool, but they ARE cool.

The originals were made in the mid-late 60's. Not sure exactly what year they're "bassed" on.
The logic of the Jaguar switching setup always kind of escaped me, but an instrument that plays in the low range can be pretty neat.

That's a lot of loot, especially if you haven't played one.
There was an MIJ version in the 90's, which would be a pretty good used deal.
I have an MIK Dano barritone that I L-O-V-E.
I tune it A-to-A.
I played one of the new ones last week. The upgrades made since the reintroduction of their guitar line make a nice difference.
They're a definite bang-for-buck. Simpler to use that the Bass VI. Depending how much you wind up using a 6-string bass or barritone, it may be all you really need.

Mines a 62. All original with OHSC. I have only had it for 3 or 4 days and find that I really dig it. Great for soloing and chording. As a guitar player this just opens up a whole new world for me
