    A Wah Anthology

My wah busted so I was looking around the Internet trying to find info on them, & I see that there is a whole "wah culture" out there. Please post any links to informative pages on wah history, construction, mods & such.
Also share any tips or tricks you've found.
My wah is an old Thomas Organ Crybaby that I think I traded some junk for. I adjusted the sweep next to an original Vox wah a friend had & it sounds pretty good when it's working. I think it has the "wrong" kind of inductor, but I like it anyway.

Interesting read. Most interesting (for those of us who are less likely to tweak our gear than others) is that the writer - a guy who has spent a lot of time, maybe too much time, playing with and listening to wah pedals - confirms what msot of us already say: out of the box, the Vox 847 is the best sounding "vintage reissue" type pedal.

It's always nice to have your choice confirmed by an expert. Thanks, 71818.

What are the industry thoughts on the 848? I am not sure what the difference is between this and the 847?

The 848 is supposed to be a reissue of this one here:

How close it really is I don't know.

Here's the guts to a few Thomas Organ wahs like the one I own.
    T.O. w/square TDK inductor:

Another from the same era (inductor has a # & says "JAPAN"):

    Here's a T.O. w/a round inductor:
