Deep sounding 52 RI Bridge Pick-up

Just had my new 52 re-issue delivered and I love it. Looks great and plays great.
However the bridge pickup seems to be very deep sounding, almost muffled. It seems to have a deeper sound than on other 'standard' teles I've played.
Is this particular to that model/year or could I have a duff pick-up

Is the pickup selector switch in the front position? If it is its not the bridge pickup its the neck pickup w/o tone cap, the middle position is the neck pup w/ tone cap, rear position is just the bridge pup. This is how they use to wire them in 1952 Its very easy to switch. Good luck

As bluesgtr20 says they come with different wiring. If you got it new it should come with the rewire kit if you don't like that tone, but isn't that why you bought the 52RI?

    Great Guitar.
