Thanks Timbo, thanks refin, thanks JAM!

JAM, the redius and soft "V" contour suits me very nicely....talk about a friendly neck :)!

Yeah, we thought about that one for a bit...On my old Strat I used to do a fair bit of volume swell stuff. Putting the knobs where they are means volume swells are a little easier. Further, your hand just naturally tends to fall on that sort of sweep/plane of movement that the knobs sit on so ergonomically it's a bonus.

Dude, it's also a soft "V" with abalone dots? Man, that's my Tele for sure! I have a drawing in my drawer of this very axe, except mine would have a P-90 in the neck.

The abalone dots I had to have simply because I saw 'em on a 40th Anniversary Tele and they were right slandy:

Here's the abalone used (last photo I took & a crappy one to boot...also you get to see the headstock in all its weirdness :)):

The headstock looks better in "person", as it were, but I kind'a like it as something different. The abalone, however, IS the sland....imagine that running in dots down your board!

    Tenebrae,

Man, That looks SWEET. I'm working up the nerve to try to spray a two tone burst.... Yours has all the right classic features, and your own personal touch. How great is that!!

Hey, Bluefrogs! Late to the party? There is no "late" if the party's good, man...glad you like the guitar.

LesPauloholic, a good two tone burst is a wonderful thing...tasteful, classic, timeless. The fellow who did mine had just finished a two tone LP Junior cherryburst that was stunning ~ he sure knows how to wield the nitro, that's for sure. I'm pleased that you dig the Tenecaster ~ I sure as hell do :)!

Tenebrae, very nice! I'm sure that puppy brings you much joy. I like how you pulled the retro and mondern elements of a tele together.

tenebrae, I don't know how I missed this when you posted. Really Sweet Man, I like a flat fret board as well. I'll bet it's a real player...

    Thanks 95, thanks mojo!

Yeah, I think the "modern" aspects knit really well with the "old school" elements. Sort of look at it and think it's so old it could be carbon dated, but then you notice the contemporary touches. The luthier guy really pulled off the "meeting of ages" thing. In retrospect, it sort'a feels like a heavily modded "old" guitar...which is a path I've been down before :).

The flat board suits me fine. I think it plays exceptionally well, especially when I consider some of the "uber-light" guitars I tried in the AUS$2-3K range. At $1900 Australian I think of it as a bit of a bargain...
