Good, it'll give me a chance to check it out. I have been hankerin' for an electrix XII for quite awhile now...maybe the phantom guitar is the one...or the teardrop!

Nah, the only electric 12 worth buying is the Rick. It's the only one you can change strings on in less than two hours. Better off with Crossfyre using a standard 6 string in Nashville tuning. It will sound just as good and be a whole lot less of a PITA.

I had a Ricky 12, and the damn thing was near impossible to play due to the thin neck.

Rick,
There's a Firebird XII for sale on eBay at the moment: ~$7500

Rick,
I've also seen a few listings now and then for ES335 12 strings... interestingly, these seem to command less money than a regular 6 string of the same vintage. Any thoughts? Were these not well regarded as 12 strings? Or is it just the whim of fashion?

I love the sound of a 335-12, but I never figured I could afford one. I need to spend less than $500 right now, so I might have to wait.

I've seen late 60's ES335 12s going for ~$2500, whereas the 6 strings of similar vintage seem to go for twice that. Does this sound right? Seems odd...Originally Posted by Rickenjangle
