    Any real Gib-Tele's?

Has there ever been a real Gibson-Tele hybrid, not just HB's on a Tele body - but a Tele bridge plate/SC pu assembly on a 24 3/4" maple set neck in a mahogany body, maybe 3 on a side tuners, tilt-back headstock, neck HB, string through body, LP Jr slab shape and wotthehell a Bigsby. Now that'd be a guitar for a red-headed stepchild.

Not your exact spec, but this is certainly on it's way to being a LP/Tele hybrid:

Thanks Dave. Those Swedes look mighty purty.

Anybody using the full bridgeplate on Tele-Gib hybrids? I thought Leo's design incorporated the extra metal mass specifically to get the classic Tele twang. (that plus the maple neck/fingerboard).

I have an old Nick Lucas and have always wanted to use that shape (with a single cutaway) for a solid body electric. Add that to my love of my 72 Tele and you get a wide-bottomed LP Jr.-like slab body with a Tele neck. I'm wondering how the classic Tele bridge would look on such a body.

Lookey here for the Nick Lucas shape -

    (I've got a 12 fret model)

Compare to the current LP Jr Special shape here -

Just as Dave said. I would go with Johan Gustavsson´s Bluesmaster. Superb sound and playability, I can personally recommend it.

He has many different versions to choose from. Woods, pickups, set neck, bolt on, pickguards and so on. Price depends on model and options as allways. Do as JJ sugessted and email him on his website. But if you are located in the US, his guitars are soon available at Wildwood guitars.
