    Squire Esprit

I just picked up one of these beauties "on trial" and it seems to be a pretty fine instrument, I must say...ESPECIALLY at the price.
I had convinced myself that one couldn't get a really nice guitar for $400 and here comes the Esprit to prove me wrong.

However, it doesn't come with a case OR a gig bag....Fender cheaped out big time on that.
But I didn't care because I have an extra case and an extra bag.

    Here's the PROBLEM:
It's both Too Wide and Too Long to fit in either a Strat style hard case or gig bag. It's even too wide for my Jazzmaster case.

Anybody who might have one of these guitars and solved that problem, please let me know what you bought.
    Thanks.

Gibson scale length, and it's too long?
I've had my eye out for something to house my project Tele.
Fender offers a variety of bags. Some of them are a little "golf bag" looking for my taste, but one of them must fit. I'd hope. They can be had for $40-50 or so on ebay.

Luckily, I haven't encountered an Esprit in the flesh yet.

Well, Bill, if you did you'd probably be happy.
I took it out to the Blues jam tonight and it performed wonderfully.
Tuned it before I left and it was in tune when I plugged it in there. I really whacked it and it didn't go out of tune even with factory strings on it. It was still in tune after I got it home.
Great tone and sustain through a DRRI...no pedals...it carried very well through the rather typically loud set.
I'm not quite accustomed to the switch and knob locations but...hey...I'll learn that.
I think I found the perfect guitar for the bass & guitar duo I'm working on.
Now just gotta find that case.

    That's the thing.
I don't want to be that kind of happy. :ahem

I figure my Bluesbird probably behaves similarly.
They do sound really interesting guitars though.
Something to keep an eye out for next time I'm out in Orange.

I just got off the phone with Fender.
They said a Hardshell Case will be available in 45 days - which means 90 days.
