I just did a deal on a '63 Bassman. This is the second model with a solid state rectifier. The cab is trashed so I will either get it restored or possibly go with a replica blonde cab and make it into a 2x12" combo. I just cranked it up for the first time yesterday and it sounds killer. Loud and clean, clean, clean. The presence control is a nice feature that allows a little extra shimmer to the tone. Yesterday I plugged it into my Mesa Blue Angel 4x10's (2 Weber C10N's and 2 alnicos) I bought it to power a Marshall cab that is wired @ 8 ohms. Today I'll be plugging that in.
I just realized it has been 10 years since I owned a 6L6 Fender amp. It has been much too long.
