Humm in amp

noticed a hum in my Hot Rod Deluxe. It increases/decreases with the volume of the amp. Can anybody give me any help on how to rid this?

I take it that you are referring to what is known as: ground hum.
This can occur for a variety of reasons. The first thing to check is the polarity of your amp. Flip the ground switch if you have one. If not, reverse the plug at the wall outlet. If none of this works, and you are not technically capable, get that baby to your favorite tech. It could be a new set of power tubes is called for. There are a variey of other ailments that a good tech should be able to get to the source of quickly.
