STOLEN GUITAR ALERT !!! - S.F. BAY AREA
This is an official heads up to all. A close friend of mine has had his No. 1 and 2 guitars stolen recently. The following is an email that I received that provides descriptions of the guitars along with contact info.
Many of you not living in the San Francisco Bay Area can't really do to much but hot guitars like the ones stolen can and do travel quickly. Bay Area players, please keep your eyes open and contact the owner accordingly if you encounter these guitars anywhere.
FWIW, the owner is the director of the Delta Blues Festival held annually in Antioch, CA. in addition to fronting his own Blues group and being just an all around outstanding person and musician.
Here's his message and thank you all.

Subject: Frank Giovanni's Stolen Guitars.....
Friends thanks for your help.
My name is Frank Giovanni and I have had my two number 1 instruments stolen.
I am sure as all people who have gone through theft, I feel very violated.
I just want the guitars back. I will press no charges. They are
sentimental to me.
I also lost a strap that my friends/fans had made
especially for me. It was made out of leather (like you would find on a
saddle) with "Frankie G" stamped on the strap... and an alagator.... with
sliver dressings. (I am heartbroken about this)
Here is a description of the guitars... with pics.
#1
Custom-made guitar.
White/Cream Strat Body. (Warmouth)
Rose wood Tele neck (Warmouth) One String Tee.
humbucker pickup in the bottom (bridge position)
Single-coil pickups in the middle and neck position.
Sperzel Tuners
Tortus-shell pickguard
Leather Strap with this guitar (included in pic)
#2
A late 80's American Standard Stratocaster.
Blue-ish Teal.
Maple
All Stock
Two Dings on the face of the guitar at the base, by the strap
Black and Purple strap with this guitar
Both guitars were in soft, black gig bags.
Please keep your eyes out ... on Ebay, Craigs List, Pawn shops, music stores
and in the clubs. You never know where these might show up.
If you think you have seen them, please contact Frank Giovanni (925)
706-2386 or the Antioch Police (925)779-7000. Case # C05-5791 Officer James MacNiven
I am offering a cash reward for the return of the instrument(s).
Thanks for your help
Frank Giovanni
